Malinis at Masaganang Karagatan

MMK Regional Coordinator Ruben Peyra, together with MMK Provincial Coordinator Monique Navarette, Provincial Fishery Officer Jerlinda A. Cruz, and Fisheries Management Regulatory and Enforcement Division Chief Ariel Pioquinto formally handed over the P1 -million cash award (that could only be utilized for livelihood programs for fisher folks) and plaque to the local government unit of Tinambac represented by Municipal Mayor Atty. Ruel Brioso Tuy, being hailed as the 2nd Regional Winner of the recently concluded “2021 Search for the Malinis at Masaganang Karagatan” sponsored by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Regional Office V.The 2021 regional winners were chosen based on the following criteria, which were considered when scoring each entry.

โ— No Illegal Fishingย โ— Observance of Off Fishing Seasonย โ— Declared MPA’sย โ— Clean Coastal Waters, andย โ— Effective Mangrove Rehabilitation
